The following are articles, websites, books and supplements that I used while preparing for my VBAC. I do not believe reading or taking these supplements will guarantee any outcome. I am not a healthcare provider and advise you to speak to your provider before taking any supplement.

I honestly love Jen Kamel of VBACFacts because she provides info…actual FACTS. I didn’t need opinions or thoughts to give me confidence in my decision one way or another. But I did want the facts. And this, my friends is where you will get it.

Another awesome article that provides facts. I found this before I was even expecting my fourth child. And it drew me in and I knew after reading it, I needed to pursue VBAC. This article speaks of not only VBAC but info for VBAMC.

This study specifically addresses the risk of uterine rupture after multiple cesareans.

This is what you need to see with your own eyes if you are pursing a VBAC. This, friends is ACOG’s Practice Bulletin regarding VBAC. Go here to see if what you have been told or what you have heard actually lines up with these recommendations.

1. The VBAC Companion: The Expectant Mother’s Guide to Vaginal Birth After Cesarean by Diana Korte

I absolutely loved the information in this book. It empowered me and was filled with everything from questions to ask a potential provider and the history of VBAC. 

2. Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin

If you doubt the ability of your body to birth, this book is what you need to read. I gained so much confidence as I read and reread this book. It was so powerful in my journey.

3. Childbirth Without Fear: The Principles and Practice of Natural Childbirth by Grantly Dick-Read

This was a favorite for me as well. I wanted to go into labor leaving fears behind me. This was so key for me!

4. Mind over Labor: A Breakthrough Guide to Giving Birth by Carl Jones and Marian Thompson

I loved the science in this book. The studies that proved our thoughts can impact labor and it’s progression. Another reason to lay my fears down and trust my body and the process.

5. Words That Move Mountains by KENYON/GOSSETT

Although I loved all the books on birth, this was my book that got my heart and mind right. It showed me that I needed to align my thoughts and words with God’s Words and has been eye opening in my life and my family’s life as well.


1. Amazing Grass

This is a green drink that is raw, with numerous antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It has an earthy, grassy taste, but I felt so energized after I drank it and still drink it today.

2. Dandelion Root Tea

I drank this tea every day of pregnancy as it has many health benefits. I even drank it in labor as well as the next one mentioned below. I could tell a difference when I drank it and my family still enjoys it.

3. Pregnancy Tea

I wanted to do all I could to prepare for birth. So I drank this and even took it to the hospital to help with after birth pains. I love my teas!

4. Reliv Supplements

Reliv has quality supplements that the body takes in as food. I used this as my prenatal as I knew it would be absorbed as opposed to a pill that needed to be broken down in my body. I have consumed this for my last two pregnancies and have had it for the last seven years of my life. I love Reliv!
